ChainSight

Delete your ChainSight account

ChainSight is made by Emmelle Studios Ltd. You can ask us to delete your ChainSight account, and the personal details held with it, at any time. You do not need the app to do this.

Ask by email

Email privacy@chainsight.co.uk from the email address you use to sign in to ChainSight, and say you would like your account deleted. If you write from another address, we will email the address on your account to confirm before doing anything.

Or ask in the app

Sign in, and on the list of properties, under “Logged in as”, tap “Delete my account”, then “Request deletion”.

What happens next

We complete every request within 30 days and email you when it is done. You can keep using ChainSight until then. If you are an estate agent, any properties you handle are passed to a colleague at your agency first. If you are the only person at your agency, your properties are released, everyone linked to them is told, and the agency is closed.

What we delete

If you are a buyer or seller: your account, your name and email address, your access to the properties you were invited to follow, your notifications and invitations, and your device's push notification token.

If you are an estate agent: your name, email address and phone number, your sign-in details, authenticator and backup codes, your sessions, your notification preferences and your push notification tokens. Your account is closed and shown only as “Former agent”.

Either way, your email address is also removed from our audit history, where it appears on records of invitations and changes of address, and so are your name and phone number, where they appear on records of you changing them. Your name is also removed from notifications other people received about you, such as being invited to a property.

What we keep, and for how long

The progress of a sale belongs to everyone in it, so changes you made to other people's sales stay on their record, shown as made by a former agent rather than by you by name.

Our audit history, a permanent record of actions such as claims, milestone changes, chain links, invitations and postcode searches, is kept for accountability, without your email address, name or phone number. It records that your account was deleted, without naming you.

Records used to limit repeated sign-in attempts are deleted automatically within 37 days.

Our encrypted nightly backups keep a copy for up to 35 days, after which it is gone. We never restore a backup to bring deleted information back.
